Default Barcelona FC

I think this would be a good place to discuss all issues Barcelona.

Do you guys think Madrid will topple Barca this season? If so, why?
If not, How can we do so?

Will Alexis and Fabregas be flops like Zlatan or will they do wonders for the club?

Alexis will top and Fabregas will flop... I think (based on current performances... that could change tho)

"Do you guys think Madrid will topple Barca this season?" Maybe. What worries me are these "little games" against for example, Levante. Dani Alves (wait, was it Xavi?) was right when he said "the la liga winner will not be decided by classicos". Ironically, they drew in their next game. Haha.

Jokes aside, I think for RM to topple Barca, they must take EVERY game seriously. I can imagine we will beat Barca in the Classicos (maybe just 1 but who knows?) but to actually take the league title we must avoid draws (and obviously losses) against small teams. We are currently 1 point behind Barca (and guess who... wait for it.... Levante GASP)

I agree with you in that Alexis looks like a player with huge potential. The way he played against us was frightening and if injury isn't an issue, i think he will be a star for them.

Fabregas is injury prone and i think this will be detrimental to his career. However, when he does play he does really good and has really found his feet when it comes to scoring. I think this is mainly due to Pep giving him freedom around the field. I think after his last game for them, Pep said that Fabregas needs to now find a position and stick to it. I think he will find space in the squad and i think this will hinder his goal tally but it will improve his team performance. Barcelona have began to switch to a 3-4-3 formation in order to utilise Fabregas at his full potential. I think this is a good strategy against the smaller teams but i am sure that Barcelona will suffer against the bigger teams as a 3 man defense isn't exactly comforting (for barca fans ofcourse).

Abidal's recent form has been shocking and Mascherano's natural position is not in defense. Alves, has a tendency to constantly move forward leaving an empty space - which could cost them against the counter-attacking play of big teams - and right now i think the only solid defender they have is Pique. Puyol is now old, slow and extrmely injury prone. I do not understand why Barca didn't go after a defender in the transfer season (Thank god). I just hope they play with this 3-4-3 formation against us.

I was over the moon when we took the advantage over Barca early in the season because it is soo crucial to do so. But then we go on to have a huge drop in performance and it really pissed me off as that was our chance to really conjure the points against Barca. You are absolutely right, these little games are just crucial!

Credit to Levante though, i hope they continue this form and i also hope more of the lesser teams challenge the top two so i could hear less of the whole 2 horse race crap from premierleague fans.

Barcelona drew!!!!!! Javi Varas was just UNBELIEVABLE! He made literally 10 amazing saves! Sevilla now have two class keepers in him and Palop.

I was soo happy with this result as we moved ahead of Barca.

"I was soo happy with this result as we moved ahead of Barca." Me too

Did you hear the rumors about Cesc cursing Islam and all sorts of crazy rumors? Boy am I glad they were proved wrong (just like in the Ozil case) otherwise...

Before the 5-0 drubbing last season, Sevilla was the only team in la liga that I feared. They have an ability to produce such quality goalkeeping and it's sad that sometimes ppl just look at the scoreline and say "oh, must of been bad keeping" when they didn't watch the game. So I'm glad it was 0-0. Now the keeper is the hero.

I'm not going to say anything about the penalty 'cause dear Ronnie has missed a few himself.

My joy will be made complete if Real continue in their form (good) and Barca theirs(bad).

Barca seem to hate International breaks, no? haha

I heard Cesc may have insulted Islam but he has strongly said he hasn't. I don't know what he said but whatever he did say must have been really really bad. I've never seen Kanoute go off like that.

I do not know what Villa said to Ozil (another humble and extremely difficult player to set off) to make him lose it like that but it was undoubtedly acted under the Barcelona influence. And now we have Fabregas stoop to such a low that only another Barca player can match by setting off Kanoute (again, I never though that would be possible.) Let us not forget the confirmed racial slurs Busquets made on Marcelo (he called him a monkey).

They are an absolute disgrace to football. Just disgusting...

I like the Andalusians and i think they deserved to come out with a point. Their defending and keeping was top notch. Cecares and Javi Varas are beasts!

I hope this time we can actually maintiain our lead and expand on it. Barca have a whole heap of issues with injuries and you're right, they do not like the international breaks. I know they will hit their stride soon...we just have to expand the lead and prepare for it.

Yesterday, Barça won 0-1 in Granada. Nothing unexpected. There were two sent-off to Granada (nothing unexpected too ). So we need to win tonight to stay ahead of them

Yea, i was expecting them to score more though. As you said, they were a man down for a while and i think they should've taken advantage of that. They should've done better. I hope they continue this bad form they are currently in.

Also, we won 3-0

Default Barcelona 0 Getafe 1 !!!

And Real are now 6 points in the clear.

Now we have a nice cushion for the Classico should we fall

Stoked at this mornings result. I think Mou will employ the defensive tactics as we have nothing to lose and a counter-attacking game is suitable for us as it will ensure us not losing.
