Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has received the backing of director general Jorge Valdano after the Spanish giants crashed out of the UEFA Champions League to Lyon.

I think it's important for everyone to keep their cool,firing Pellegrini just makes things worse,its easy for me to say this i suppose not being Spanish or coming from Madrid ,lets see how things pan out,give him time as i am sure he will get it right

He's an extremly good coach, but we failed against Lyon, two times, against Alcorcon and two times against Barcelona. We even failed against Sevilla on Sachez Pizjuan and that's why we havent won anything this year.

It's good decision to fire him
